This is one of my favorite websites and one that I use frequently to check on my twitter updates and to search for other topics. I am still working on the backend with additional tweaks and customizations, but so far it’s coming along nicely. The theme I used is called Tweem which uses a Juitter Jquery script as the foundation for the theme. I then added single posts, custom widgets, and some additional functions in the backend to get the site to do more of what I want. There are a ton of changes here and if I get a chance I’ll list them shortly. As with all my sites, I usually start with a commercial theme and then customize everything to achieve my desired look and functionality.

Jim Atwood Mobile Website

I just finished putting together my new Jim Atwood Mobile Website. It took me a while to figure out what approach I was going to take with the theme and mobile plugins. So far I think the site is working out pretty well. http://jimatwood.mobi

The website is using Wordpress 2.8.3 as of this writing and the following plugins.

Access Keys
Google XML Sitemaps
WordPress Mobile Pack
XHTML and Mobile YouTube

I am also looking into the Mobify Wordpress Plugin, but so far I like the Wordpress Mobile Pack the best because it is much easier and free for all my sites without any limitations.

Wordpress Podcast Plugin on Ricochehost

I am testing a Podcast Plugin for Wordpress. This podcast was recorded using an Olympus Voice-Trek DS-60 purchased in Japan on medium to low quality. The file size is 1.58MB and it was recorded using .wmv file format which is the native recording format for the Olympus DS-60.

Update: The .wmv wouldn’t work so I am now using an mp3. The wmv might work, but I’ll have to check the formatting on that and update this post later. Most people use .mp3 anyway and coverting from .wmv is easy nowadays. I use Adobe Soundbooth.

Wordpress Podcast Plugin on Ricochehost

Ricochehost New Look

Ricochehost is up and running with a clean new look. Over the years, Ricochehost has gone through a few theme changes and I think the new result today looks pretty good. I’ll be adding more content and information more this week along with a possible forum section again. I have quite a few vBulletin licenses I need to use. In addition, Ricochehost is running pretty much all of the Wordpress plugins listed on the front page. As always there are a few like “simple tags” that has yet to fully function with Wordpress 2.8, but that will change. Stay tuned for updates which I’ll either post here on add to the comments. Thanks!

Ricochehost New Look
