I’m digging this online site called http://www.flashtweet.com/ that allows you to do a number of cool things with your Twitter account for free. FlashTweet is a mass follow tool that simplifies the process of adding your twitter friends. You can see who you are following that is following you back, mass follow users based on search terms and even unfollow multiple friends at once. I particularly like this tool because I can easily pull user profiles based on search terms or a user profile I want to know more about. It then allows you to auto follow up to 100 users which is good because you shouldn’t automate over 200 follows on Twitter per day. Great site for those who wish to have ( a better? ) alternative than all those paid software programs floating around for auto following. I knew there had to be something free and more useful and this might just be the ticket.

If anyone has good free alternatives for auto following relevant users on Twitter, please let me know. Note I say relevant because I am genuinely interested in following users that follow my interests in Japan, Photography, and the Tech world. In no way do I wish to spam or use for any other purpose. Thanks!!

Update…another great site to check out is http://www.buzzom.com/Default.aspx.

I find this very useful unfollowing multiple users if needed. It’s a free service and it works very well for the above bulk tasks. Does anybody know of similar services that are free and useful?

I just stumbled upon a website that aims to help finding out who “unfollowed” or “quit following you” on Twitter. I think this is interesting information because there are a lot of people who simply want to be followed, but not follow anyone else. They may follow you and then later unfollow you for some reason or another. Perhaps there might be a good reason which is fine, but regardless, I think it’s very helpful to know who unfollows you. I wish Twitter was more helpful in this matter. So what do you do? How do you find this info out?

Well, so far I’ve only been able to find one free service at http://useqwitter.com/.

Qwitter e-mails you when someone stops following you on Twitter with a message like this:

John Gruber (gruber) stopped following you on Twitter after you posted this tweet:

What’s the difference between Arial and Helvetica?

I only just started using this and will update my post once I determine whether it works to my liking or not. Anyone know of any alternatives on getting notified when someone pulls the plug on following you?
